Okay, we’ve got these “stimulus” plans. We’ve got shrinking tax refunds. We’ve got people getting away with defrauding not just grandma but major for-profit and non-profit organizations. We’ve got people with decreased wages or, worse, people who are unemployed all together.
Yet none of these situations leaves any reason to despair.
The “stimulus” plans are being looked over in an attempt to curb abuse of a generous gift coming directly from the government and indirectly from the taxpayers. The shrinking tax refunds we can only hope are because the government is helping unfortunate people; not to line pockets of already rich officials. As for those who dare be dishonest in business (not just fraud), each of those has the great responsibility of t’shuvah. Innately, the one who cheats in any business venture knows the actions are wrong. He or she knows that treating others with respect is the right way, the G-dly way. To those unemployed, don’t despair! You can do something an employed person can’t: Show your the newness and freshness G-d continues to enfuse within you every moment. Your prospective employer is looking for newness and freshness. Give it to him! You have a tap into The Infinite Resource! You will get that new job by drawing on your strengths and improving your weaknesses. Stay positive. Be your best and be open to learn everyday. That’s how your prospective employer and you will benefit from with every effort. Remembering honesty in business and in life must be upheld.
And for those who think these ideas are all wet, I will let you mull over what a great Jewish sage once said: “What is harmful to you, do not do unto others.”
